The Concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine
The acupuncture points, locations on the body used in acupuncture, acupressure, moxibustion, shiatsu massage and other treatment systems are based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
One of the important concepts of TCM is to treat underlying cause of illness, that could help prevent turning general malaise conditions and disorders into illness in future. The more minor recent conditions treated with alternative treatment systems including acupuncture, acupressure, moxibustion, shiatsu massage, Chinese herbal medicine and other alternative oriental treatment systems, the higher chances of preventing the body system developing illness could be achieved. Some practitioners say that period of a recent condition could be within 6 months to 1 year from the point when the condition is first recognised, depending on the trelance level of person’s body. However, our body and soul is influenced by various factors such as individual lifestyle and surrounding environment, and all integrated factors could turn our body into better or worse conditions, irrespective of symptoms are recognised or not. On the contrary, general theory of Western medicine treatment is to cure illness diagnosed based on Western medical terminology and definitions.
It is important that if you feel sick, ill or concerned about any different conditions, irrespective of minor or major, with or without pain, please go to see Western medical doctors first. We could treat you once we see a document that says your doctor allow you to have complimentary therapies.
